Description

This project focuses on developing a cutting-edge, data-driven security anomaly detection system for Medius' SaaS platforms, aimed at proactively identifying and mitigating potential threats before they impact users. By leveraging advanced machine learning models and predictive analytics, the system will detect anomalous activities such as unauthorized access, unusual role assignments, and abnormal user behavior—ensuring that security risks are identified in real time. Custom visualizations will further empower security teams with intuitive, actionable insights to quickly investigate and address.

The selected candidate will work within the Security squad on:

• Conduct an in-depth study of the current state of the art in machine learning techniques for security anomaly detection.
• Review existing solutions, methodologies, and frameworks to identify best practices and gaps in the field.
• Data Collection and Analysis
  • Study and analyze production logs to determine what data can be collected and utilized for anomaly detection.
  • Implement a SIEM solution (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel) to collect logs from various internal and external data source.
• Machine Learning for Anomaly Detection
  • Develop and implement custom machine learning models to detect company-specific anomalies, such as role assignments or changes in critical workflows.
  • Ensure the solution is adaptable and can scale to meet future needs as the SaaS platform evolves or especially for future ambitions to extend the solution for other apps.
• Advanced Visualizations and Reporting
  • Build custom Systems (e.g., Jupyter notebooks) for advanced data visualization, making it easier for security analysts to identify and investigate anomalies.
  • Create data visualizations that are not provided out-of-the-box in Microsoft Sentinel, such as custom timelines and process trees.
